Wednesday afternoon workshops

The DMC studio space is running wednesday workshops for D&T secondary school teachers in Cornwall. These workshops are funded by D&TA as part of our CAD CAM HUB work.  There are limited space so we ask that you phone Beryl Cahill on 01209 721 443 to book a place. The workshops will start at 1pm but you can arrive any time during the afternoon and stay as long as you want. The intention is to give you space, resources and time to train in the area you want with help and support on hand.

 

Dates the studio is open

January

- 20th (focus on electronics with textiles )

- 27th (open workshop) no particular focus

February

- 3rd (focus on electronics and CAD/CAM  )

- 10th (open workshop) no particular focus

March (invited guest to be confirmed)

- 10th Techsoft training event. Learnto use 2d Design CAD software

- 17th (open workshop)  no particular focus

Please telephone in advance to reserve your place

*To get full accreditation on either of these softwares, ten hours of training and a case study are required. Please refer to www.cadinschools.org for costs and details

The Design and Making Centre catalogue will be reopening at the end of January – we shall be sending out a digital catalogue and putting a virtual catalogue on the website nearer the date.

 

It will have a change of name ‘Cornwall Learning purchasing scheme’ and is now been re-housed in new premises.

Successful day at Tremough campus

University College Falmouth (UCF) is hosting on behalf of the DMC a day on which teachers had an opportunity to explore the creative impact that 3D printing can have on 3D work within schools, colleges and the world of work.
