The new KS3 statutory orders for D&T

Support from the DMC for the introduction of the new KS3 orders post September 2008 for Y7 students.
The DMC has developed its well known planning strategy for D&T to accommodate the requirements of the new orders to be introduced with Y7 students in September 2008; this may now be freely downloaded and used in schools.

This pack has been constructed to support those involved in leading Design and Technology in primary schools.
Its aim is to provide materials which can be adapted by the subject leader to meet their school’s particular needs.
Visual Language Resource

The DMC is pleased to announce that the new visual language resource sponsored by the Department for children, schools and families curriculum unit is now available for free download in PDF format.
This resource explores the Visual Language used in creative work such as fine art, product design, sculpture, jewellery, textiles and furniture design.
The aim of the resource is to raise awareness and understanding of the visual language that artists, designers and crafts people have at their disposal. The challenge is to use this language in exciting and innovative ways.
The elements available for PDF download are:-
- Visual elements section
- Visual principles section
- Set of ten posters
- Set of starter exercises
